Take in the Winter Beauty

This is the time to take in the Winter beauty and spend a lot of time with family and friends.

The last few months have been challenging for me health wise.  But I try to take the time to be still grateful for what I have even when I am not feeling my best.  I'm looking forward to family time this Holiday season and looking forward to 2017 !!

Meditating- bringing focus and peace of mind into ones life.

Meditations-  They can bring focus, relaxation and peace of mind into ones life.  There are a lot of different ones to choose from.  Find what works for you- something that you could see yourself doing everyday.  It does not have to be long.  I do short ones during the week and longer meditations on the weekends.  I start my morning with my daily stretching/Yoga moves before I start my meditating.   If I wake up in a sour mood-  I find it helps shift my Energy into a more positive one.

*  Find a quiet space- with soft light or candles

*  Find the right time to be unconnected from other activities

*  Do some stretches before you start so you can sit for a time (like 10-20 minutes)

*  Close your eyes or you can stare at a blank wall

*  Focus on your Breath-  try to count down to 10 in your head and breath slowly in and out.  This       will help calm the mind    ( there are different breathing techniques you can do)

*  Watch your thoughts and try to maintain focus -it takes practice and patience -  if your mind wanders just bring it back.

*  When your ending you meditation- Pull yourself into your physical body before you go about your day.  You can do this by taking some deep breaths and feel the floor or cushions your sitting on underneath your body.

Manifesting your life-

If you are feeling like you are stuck and bored where you are in your life,  try doing some simple steps to get a clear view to where you want to go-

Manifesting may help with this process- getting it out into the Universe and writing your desires and goals down on paper- that you would like to change.

man·i·fes·ta·tion
manəfəˈstāSH(ə)n,ˌmanəˌfesˈtāSH(ə)n/
noun
plural noun: manifestations
  1. an event, action, or object that clearly shows or embodies something, especially a theory or an abstract idea.
    • the action or fact of showing an abstract idea.

"the manifestation of anxiety over the upcoming exams"

Manifesting Wheel-  This is an Example I found on the Web.

You can write down anything you want to manifest !!

Here is a great link I found on the Web that has some great pointers on manifesting your desires-

November is the Month to be Grateful !!

Let's be Grateful !!     I had my family write out last night what they are grateful for and post it on a Tree.

It is a great ritual for everyone to do.  It will bring your life into perspective and may bring out happiness into your life.  It is also a great learning tool for kids to teach them Needs and Wants in their life.  When things don't go our way what can we do to keep going on..........    Sit down and take a good look at your life and the things that we have already experienced.  Take those positive memories and let them fill you up again.  I know this is hard, even for adults to do. But doing this exercise with your family may bring great benefits.   Having kids around,  reminds me the things that I can do for myself to just keep going when things get difficult.

Joy Joy Joy !!

Joy Essential Oil-     I got a great compliment the other day from someone.  They asked me what Perfume I was wearing?   They had stated they had felt their mood and happiness increased thru out the day hanging out with me.  I told them that I didn't have perfume on and that it must of been Joy essential oil I had on.   So this brings me to the Post.  I thought this is a great time to talk about this Great oil.  I inhale this oil every morning while I am doing my morning routine in the Kitchen.  It helps me to get the day started and helps me if I am not feeling my best self.

I also had my Daughter started using this one too when she gets moody and feels sad.

Take in the Beauty of the Changes of the Season.    Great time to reflect on the last season and thinking about all that is to come with the next one.  Warm sweaters and Hot drinks, Bonfires- friends gathering around- telling spooky stories and good laughs.     This is what I look forward too this season.

Cinnamon, cranberries, Hot apple cider and apple donuts are some of my Favorites of this Season.

Kids learning to deal with Life early

I just had this conversation with some friends who's kids just started school about being kind to each other.  How are we to teach and guide our kids thru the ebb and flow of childhood? I am still trying to figure that one out.   The conversations I have had with my kids starting at Kindergarten was a surprise to me.  Talking about how to stick up for yourself when you are being teased or ignored by classmates in school and on the bus.  I thought I would be having these conversations when they would be in middle school  I just wish I could keep my kids in a Magic bubble, but I can't.

Daily I try to remind them to be kind, helpful and learn something new at school.  Encourage them to try to solve issues themselves first, then go to an adult if they still need help and guidance.  I know some of this stuff about teasing and bullying they go over in school with the kids- but it is not enough.

One book I read to my kids when they were in Preschool was Have you Filled a Bucket Today !! It is about how you fill other peoples buckets instead of being a bucket dipper.  When you have low self-esteem and don't feel good about yourself- that is how people dip into your bucket to make them selves feel better, instead of doing something kind for someone-you will then fill up your own bucket at the same time.  Here is the Link below to check out.

Some other great books I came across for my Daughter was the American girl books.

These books have great info and helpful ideas for girls on how to handle different situations in their life growing up.    They have been extremely helpful in our house.

Wishing all Kids that they Have Courage and Be Kind !!

Let me know your thoughts and any other helpful books out there for kids- Please share with me !!

Spring Cleaning-

Spring Time is Here-

Lets take in the Sun rays and warmth of the Creator-

Here are some helpful Herbs to consider during this time of year.

Detox Herbs

Dandelion: This well-known detox herb helps cleanse the liver by stimulating the production of bile and its flow to the gallbladder, one avenue through which the body naturally removes toxins. Dandelion leaves are also a diuretic. Steep the roots to make dandelion tea, or add the leaves to salads. Learn more about gathering wild dandelions in “A Dandelion Celebration.”

Milk thistle:  Silymarin, the active ingredient in milk thistle, prevents liver damage and stimulates this organ’s ability to generate new cells. German physicians frequently prescribe milk thistle as a treatment for those suffering from liver damage. Because silymarin is poorly soluble in water and not absorbed well by the body, a concentrated supplement is recommended. Try a 200 mg capsule representing 140 mg of silymarin.

Turmeric :is another well-known beneficial herb for the liver. Turmeric increases the flow of bile, helping to remove toxins from the body. Take a 50 mg supplement daily, or incorporate it more into your cooking.

Green tea: A study reported in a journal of the American Association for Cancer Research found that the catechins found in green tea increased production of a group of important detoxification enzymes that have been shown to protect the body from toxins and cancer-causing chemicals. Try drinking a cup a day.

Garlic :contains sulfur compounds such as allicin that oxidize heavy metals, making them more water-soluble and easier to remove from the body. Garlic has numerous other benefits that can help strengthen your detox system, like strengthening the immune system and controlling free radicals. If eating garlic raw, be sure to cut, crush or bruise the clove to activate its healing properties.

Cilantro: binds to heavy metals such as mercury, cadmium, lead and aluminum, making it easier to transport them out of the body. Try steaming a packed ¼ cup of cilantro once daily for three weeks.

Please check with your Primary Doctor regarding taking herbs- along with any other medicines that you may be on.

Some Helpful ideas for Spring Cleaning too-

Vinegar is one of the Best Cleaning solutions out there that is not harmful to you and the environment- along with baking soda- works great with scumming sinks, tiles and over drain plugs.
