Feeling blah or having some tummy issues??  Especially during this time of year- extra treats, sweets and not always eating healthy or what your suppose to be eating .


Here are some of the Benefits of drinking peppermint tea: 

 

* This is a good source of Vitamin C so it can play a vital role in your immune system and to keeping bacteria and viruses away.

* There are high levels of manganese in peppermint.  It will act as an antioxidant to target the free radicals and help in neutralizing them. Also it encourages the growth of proper bone structure.

* Studies have shown that peppermint tea will calm the gastrointestinal tract to allow healthy bowel movements and help with nausea.

*Peppermint tea contains high levels of an amino acid, called tryptophan and this plays a major role in generating serotonin- a mood controlling chemical. This is why your mood could improve after a cup of this tea.

* Omega-3 fatty acids are in this tea as well.  Help to increase the good cholesterol levels in your body and promote heart health.

Caution:  This is a powerful tea and can help a wide range of health benefits above- but it still has possible side effects.  Menthol can act as an allergen to some people and can cause heartburn in others.  Both reactions are typical mild.
